The Local Take:

Colorful, lovely, delicious and wondrous. La Zebra is the place where we fell in love with Tulum. It was love at first sight and it changed our lives. La Zebra has grown since we discovered it in 2007. Back then it was a small round wood deck, tiny kitchen and palapa bar with a few beach loungers out front and nothing on either side as far as you can see, this was La Zebra in his early beginnings. La Zebra has since evolved into one of the most luxurious and desired beach front properties in Tulum, yet it’s original bohemian charm is still in-tact. That same round deck is part of a platform of tiered beachfront seating and an extension of the bar and restaurant, with dining and large comfortable couches and coffee tables overlooking the beach and ocean.

This resort has individual little casitas in the sand as well as connected rooms and luxurious beachfront suites and penthouses, each with their own dipping pool. The palm tree dotted grounds feature a really fun playground for children and hammocks tucked into the trees for reading and dreaming.

The public is welcome to come for breakfast, lunch or dinner and many locals frequent here for a day on the beach or attending Sunday evening salsa classes!

La Zebra´s Restaurant also features twice weekly Chef´s Table Events; featuring up to 12 courses.

La Zebra offers breakfast, lunch and dinner on their deck overlooking the blue Caribbean Sea. Not sure if this makes the food taste better, but it doesn’t hurt.

The menu features seafood caught daily, abundant fresh local fruits and vegetables; a fusion of Mexican/Caribbean flavor dishes. Try the seafood burger with seared tuna, topped with fresh shrimp and served with sweet potato fries! While you’re at it, order a pitcher of sangria infused with local fruit or the fresh sugar cane mojitos.

Don’t forget Sundays at La Zebra, they start the BBQ early to prepare for Sunday Salsa Dancing! The live band usually gets started around 7 PM.
