The Local Take:

Villa Pescadores is a rustic beach front cabana resort on the northern end of the Tulum beaches, just south of the actual ruins of Tulum, along the main public beach access areas.  They also have a restaurant on site where you can have a cheeseburger in paradise or some tacos along with a cold beer or margarita.  This is a fun and casual place to do some good hanging out at the beach bar and people watch while listening to the waves.
