The Local Take:

Perched above the cliffs, overlooking one of Tulum´s most impressive beaches, is the Mezzanine. With only 9 rooms on site, each room is simple yet romantic and elegantly appointed in Thai decor. Overlooking the Caribbean Sea is the pool and hip deck to enjoy a cold drink, Yummy!!

The restaurant offers great Thai food with a fabulous bar selection and nice wine menu. Cool night breezes along with a magnificent view of the moon over the ocean make this a great night out. Make sure you end your meal with the signature “Mayan Coffee”. Mezzanine also has a daily happy hour from 1 – 4 pm with delicious margaritas in peach, mango or strawberry!!

Although the Mezzanine beach itself is rocky, immediately to the left of the hotel is the public beach which extends all the way down to the Tulum Mayan ruins. In fact, you can see the top of the lookout tower from the hotel, lending to the mystical, magical feel of the Mezzanine.

This is a hotel, but anyone is welcome for breakfast, lunch or dinner and many locals are frequently found dining or having drinks on the deck. Please note that children under 16 years old are not allowed in the hotel.
